Get to know Jessica
It’s important for me to role model community involvement. Here we are checking out a police helicopter prior to riding bicycles as Town Council representatives in our annual Truckee 4th of July Parade.
First vacation with my children. We went to St Thomas and seeing them embrace new experiences, like swimming/snorkeling in the ocean, was such fun!
Living in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, just North of Lake Tahoe, makes it easy to embrace outdoor activities all year round!
Sailing outside of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean during one of my weekend-long classes.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you've never been, where would you go?
I would love to participate in the ‘Pacific Puddle Jump’ sailing rally, from Mexico to French Polynesia. Enjoying the beaches of Tanzania, and skiing the Sella Ronda in the Italian Dolomites are also at the top of my list!
What's your secret talent that no one knows about?
I hold a commercial drivers license and can parallel park a school bus, on either side of the road!
What's the coolest thing you're working on right now?
A couple of years ago, I decided to learn how to sail and am nearly through the US Sailing Curriculum, which trains people from complete beginner to being competent at crossing oceans. Learning a brand new skill as an adult is tremendously challenging but so very rewarding too!
Who inspires you?
My two children. I’m aware that every word and action from me is role modeling for them.
